AMOS Released in 1990 was mostly used to make multimedia software, games and educational software. AMOS Professional released in 1992, offered better support for the Amiga operating system and many extras to help in creating more serious software. It allowed for the use of double precision floating point numbers rather than the single precision floating point numbers used in the original AMOS. AMOS is developed by François Lionet and Constantin Sotiropoulos and the source code was released some years ago. Amiga developer Frédéric Cordier released AMOS Professional AGA edition a few days ago and the first release offers powerful new capabilities. The new AMOS Professional AGA edition is completly free and the project will have future updates.
